Booking Terms & Conditions/ Statement of Risk
|Statement of risk:
Outdoor Learning Schools CIC places safety as priority. Adventurous Activities involve risks for the people participating. OLS aim to keep all risks as low as possible through:
Assessing all risks before activities commence and through dynamic risk assessments during activities
Using experienced instructors with the appropriate skills, knowledge and understanding and relevant NGB qualifications
Issuing clear safety instructions to all participants
Ensuring equipment and PPE is fit for purpose and participants suitably clothed for the activity
We expect participates to co-operate in activities through following good behaviour guidelines. Activities may be changed or adapted due to the abilities of the group or weather conditions.
Insurance & Responsibilities
I confirm that pupils attending have insurance for this residential & activity experience and that parents have been informed of the activities pupils will participate in.
I confirm that staff are competent and experienced to deliver the sessions they have agreed to lead.
It is the schools responsibility to supervise pupils during teacher led activities or out of OLS led activity sessions
Whilst Outdoor Learning Schools, (OLS), will take all steps reasonable to ensure safety OLS accepts no liability in respect of loss or damage to property or injury to persons
I confirm that the session leaders,(teacher/TA) have complete risk assessments for any activities/teacher-led time they deliver
It is the schools responsibility to complete risk assessments for travel and for the safety & well being of pupils during non OLS sessions. This is to include procedures for night time arrangements.
Risk Assessments for the site and all OLS activities can be viewed on the OLS website but will not be sent out to schools as recommended by the LA Advisor
Standard Operating Procedures for OLS can be seen on request.
OLS Emergency action plan conforms with N.E.Lincolnshire Policy and can be seen on request.
Publicity of Photographs & Internet
I give permission for photographs taken during the event/ and or comments given, to be used to promote outdoor learning through the internet, articles, newspaper and educational publications.
If you do not wish pupils or staff to be photographed or your comments /views reported on please inform the course leader on arrival
Payment Cancellations & Deposit:
Bookings may be cancelled up to 2 months ahead of the scheduled date. Deposits are non –refundable
Payment to be made 4 weeks prior to the residential. An invoice will be sent out 8 weeks before commencement of course.
Bookings cancelled within 28 days of commencement to the course will be eligible for a refund of 40%.
Any shorter notice of cancellation is not eligible for any refund
OLC reserves the right to cancel courses if necessary. Alternative dates will be offered if available.
For pupils aged 7 and over school ratios will be 1:10. A minimum of two teachers are required to attend
Groups must include staff of the appropriate numbers and competence to ensure the safety and well being of the group.
1 free teacher place will be allocated for every 10 pupils. Additional staff will be charged at a discounted rate of £30
